EEP is now donationware

I added Paypal "Donate" links on the website.
I did that because I realized that all the efforts I put in EEP since quite a while is not even a little for me.
Donations will be used to buy EyeTV 3 upgrades, Leopard upgrades, and PC upgrades in the long term.

A big thank you to those of you who already donated, even without an easy way to do so.

Would you like to donate?

No more support for Canada!

More than important notice:

EyeTV EPG Proxy will stop functioning on September 1st 2007 for Canadians.
This is when Zap2It, the provider of the data used for Canadian EPG, will stop offering their data for free.
You can read a little more about this here.

Sorry to everyone who was using this daily, as I was.

New: Support for tv2.dk (XMLTV)

The newest version of EyeTV EPG Proxy, 0.9.8, should (as in not really confirmed) support XMLTV feeds pulled from http://tv.tv2.dk/tv
There's also a couple of other enhancements which shouldn't affect normal users.
I suggest nobody upgrades unless they need one of the fix listed below:
  • Fix to support XMLTV with no RFID in (example: http://tv.tv2.dk/tv)
  • Fix for duplicate channels in lineup; i.e. 2+ channels that broadcast the same station & has the same schedule.
  • Stub RetrieveRemoteSince requests (remove error_log spams; not important for functionality)

EyeTV support for IceTV (Australia)

Just a quick news post to tell .au users that EyeTV 2.3.2+ now supports IceTV natively. Comes with 1 free month of EPG.

Cheers to Elgato for the newly added support for .au users.

Now Easier to Install on Mac!

You can now install EyeTV EPG Proxy very easily on your Mac using the installer package.
It will take care of most of the hard work.
All you'll need to do after installing this new package will be to open a Zap2It account, edit the configuration file (in TextEdit), and configure EyeTV correctly.
See the Mac installation instructions page for details.
